Ouxi GT2000 – Black: 1440 Wh, 24-inch tyres and a killswitch you flip yourself

You choose the Ouxi GT2000 in black on the numbers: a 48 V / 30 Ah battery with 1440 Wh, 24-inch off-road tyres, hydraulic brakes and a 150 kg maximum load. You buy it limited at 250 W with pedal assist to 25 km/h, or tunable with a killswitch and a throttle. It is a bike for one rider, with a high frame entry.

In practice: long rides without charging along the way, and grip on sand and gravel. You order the GT2000 from FatbikeKlaar.nl; the same bike is also on FatbikeKlaar.be for Belgium and in English on FatbikeKlaar.com.

Why the GT2000 is a good choice

Performance

  • Motor: 250 W, pedal assist up to 25 km/h in the limited setting.
  • Battery: 48 V / 30 Ah, 1440 Wh together — twice as much as a 720 Wh battery.
  • Range: 80 km on average, up to 100 km on low assist, around 60 km on high.
  • Charging time: 5 to 6 hours from empty to full.
  • Brakes: hydraulic, needed with a bike weight of 34 kg.
  • Tyres: 24-inch off-road, in size 24 x 4.0 inch.

Safety and the law

Limited (250W) stays within the rules for an electric bicycle: 250 W, pedal assist to 25 km/h. You need no driving licence, helmet or registration plate, and nothing has to be unlocked. The tunable version has the same limited setting, plus a setting that is not allowed on the public road.

The GT2000 in practice

Comfort and riding position

The GT2000 has a high frame entry and is meant for one person from 150 to 200 cm. It carries up to 150 kg and weighs 34 kg itself; you notice that mostly when lifting it. The 24-inch wheel rolls more easily over potholes and speed bumps.

Battery and charging

A full charge takes 5 to 6 hours. What you get out of it depends on the setting: 60 km on high, 80 km on medium and up to 100 km on low assist. Headwind and cold take away from that.

Tuning: what is possible and what is allowed

On the Tunable version, the controller, the 6 km/h throttle and the killswitch are already fitted. That killswitch has two settings:

  • Limited: throttle up to 6 km/h, pedal assist up to 25 km/h.
  • Tuned: throttle and pedal assist up to 60 km/h.

A plug colour plays no part here; everything runs through the controller and the killswitch. If you chose limited, you can still fit the separate GT2000 controller later on. More options are with the tuning kits; you can read about fitting it in GT2000 tuning: how the tunable controller with throttle works.

Riding tuned is only allowed on private or enclosed property; on the public road a maximum of 25 km/h pedal assist applies. So always set the killswitch to limited there.

Service, warranty and delivery

You get a 3-year warranty on the frame and 1 year on the battery and moving parts. Choose boxed delivery and assemble it yourself, or assembled and we build it ready to ride. In the Netherlands: ordered before 23:59, delivered tomorrow. We also deliver to Belgium and Germany, without a fixed delivery time.

The GT2000 compared with our other fatbikes

GT2000 versus QMWheel V20 Pro

The QMWheel V20 Pro has 720 Wh and does 60 km on average; the GT2000 sits at 1440 Wh and 80 km. The V20 Pro runs on 20 inch, seats two with a rear seat and has 7 Shimano gears. Tuning there goes up to 45 km/h with the red motor plug and 32 km/h with the black one.

GT2000 versus Ouxi C80 Family Edition

The Ouxi C80 Family Edition is the family bike: 20 inch, room for two with a rear seat, 7 Shimano gears. The battery is 720 Wh for 60 km on average and the bike weighs 36 kg. Tuning up to 45 km/h runs through a separate controller or display there.

Frequently asked questions about the GT2000

Do I need a driving licence or a helmet for the GT2000?

No. Limited (250W) counts as an electric bicycle with pedal assist up to 25 km/h: no driving licence, helmet requirement or registration plate. That also applies to the tunable version, as long as the killswitch is set to limited.

How far do I get on the 1440 Wh battery?

Count on 80 km with medium assist. In the lowest setting up to 100 km is achievable, in the highest around 60 km. Charging takes 5 to 6 hours.

What exactly does the killswitch do?

It switches between two settings. Limited: throttle 6 km/h and pedal assist 25 km/h. Tuned: both up to 60 km/h, on private or enclosed property only.

What about maintenance and warranty?

You get a 3-year warranty on the frame and 1 year on the battery and moving parts. Keep the tyre pressure up and have the brakes checked if the lever gets more travel.

Can I assemble the GT2000 myself?

Yes. With boxed delivery you assemble it yourself; assembled, we build it ready to ride. In both cases the tunable version comes with a killswitch and throttle.
